Getting injectables? Don't know how to prepare...we'll here's how:
Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment to minimize risk of bruising (alcohol is a blood thinner).
Avoid anti-inflammatory agents at least 2 weeks before a treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, Vitamin E, Gingo Biloba, St Johns Wort, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, Vioxx and other NSAIDs, as these are all blood thinning agents, which may increase your chance of bruising.
Don’t stop a prescribed blood thinner such as lovenox, Coumadin or warfarin, without consulting with your medical provider. It is safe for you to have injectables, but most likely will bruise more easily.
Please don’t schedule an injectable appointment at least 2 weeks before a special event, I.e wedding, vacation, reunion, just in case you do bruise. You want to make sure you look your best!
